Fall Learning Series

We call our sacraments “outward signs.” What exactly is a sign? Where do symbols fit in? This first fall presentation will discuss the difference between signs and symbols, how we might better understand sacraments, and what are the signs and symbols we make use of during liturgy? Many more than we think! Signs and symbols enable us to be fully engaged during liturgy ... including our bodies.

There is much discussion these days about Vatican II: was it a good move for the Church or not, how should we regard the liturgical changes the Council envisioned. This session will 

help us understand that the intent of the Council Fathers was not willy-nilly to change liturgy for some novel effect, but to study the historical development of liturgy and recover some of the richness of its ritual that had been lost through its historical development.
