Cancer Care Ministry

  • The St. Peregrine Cancer Care Ministry is an outreach of the Shrine that has the mission of being a source of prayer, encouragement, and hope to those who are suffering with cancer, and for their care-givers, family and friends.

Members of the ministry team completed an 8-week training course and were commissioned at the November 2019 St. Peregrine Prayer Service by Deacon Gregg Elking. The team is embracing the hope of healing of body, mind and spirit, all the while encouraging those to whom they minister that they are not alone.

The Shrine also offers public veneration of the St. Peregrine Relic, once a month, following the last Saturday 10am Mass and during a quarterly St. Peregrine Cancer Prayer Service. For details regarding the next service, see our Events page.

  • Light a candle

Lighting a candle for a loved one is a beautiful way for them to be prayed for amongst the Saints in the Shrine's Holy Relic Chapel. Candles can be lit for a month, three months or a year and the intentions are prayed over daily.
